Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Cabriolet V8 — 1960

Few cars breathe the dream of the American 50 century as Cadillac Eldorado. Here one of the country's absolute finest – renovated from the ground up to a magical condition. ?
This Eldorado was re-sold to American Airlines and has in modern times been imported to Sweden from California by its current owners. Over the years, many have modified their simpler De Ville to Eldorado but this one is genuine and packed with options – of which separate front seats instead of couch are very unusual.
?When the car came to Sweden 2010 began the very extensive and uncompromising renovation where nothing was left untouched. Among other things, the lift of the body frame and all body parts are dipped in acid baths. All the work, such as the painting in the very tasteful and attractive Cadillac color Heather (grey-pink metallic), the interior and the renovation of the 390CI engine and the 4-step Get-Away machine, is made by ultimate experts in its areas – which landed in a final result with nothing to complain about.
?The decor is in dream kick with brand new upholstery sewn after the original in the correct leather from the USA. Also door sides, padding to the instrument panel, panels and mats are new. The same high level applies to the lavish coating and the chromium. Most are new, including the bumpers, and the grills. ?With radial tires, it goes very nicely along the way to being an American car from the fifties.
This particular specimen also has its own air suspension – something that many other Eldorado has taken away over the years. Like front suspension, brakes and other technology are renovated to very high standard. ?The hood is new with refurbished and chromed hood rack. All electric motors for the hood are replaced, and like all other electricity such as chairs, windows and luggage hatch, it works perfectly.
The third generation of Cadillac's Top of the-line model Eldorado will always have its special place in every motor heart. When it came 1959 with its razor-sharp fins and double tail lights, this was among the most extreme Detroit seen. Compared to the simpler De Ville model, it was much more chrome weight with its pre-model special grills, its molding’s and hubcaps. The engine, however, was the same 390 cu large V8 at 345 HP – here with 3-carburator arrangement. The equipment list for Eldorado was long and among the standard equipment the 4-step Get-Away-machine and air suspension was noticed. ?To 1960, Cadillac had toned down slightly and made the rear lights more line comfortable, while decreasing down slightly on the amount of chromium. ?1959 and 1960 Eldorado today count as some of the car world's real icons!

• Zustand technisch

  Engine, gearbox, front suspension, air suspension: all renovated by the country's best experts. Has never been rusty and is as nice under as otherwise.
  Have only rolled a few hundred miles since the renovation was completed 2017.

• Zustand Interieur

  All upholstery sewn in the right leather. New panels, door sides, rugs, attire for the dashboard. Almost everything is new and the condition is accordenly. Original chrome on the dashboard, some very small cracks in the steering wheel. New rug in the luggage and as nice as otherwise.

• Zustand Exterieur

  More or less in perfect condition. New lacquer, large amounts of new chrome, new rubber and new windshield. New hood on carefully refurbished position. The glass of the ventilation window has traces of aging – but it's probably the only thing that can be remarked.

• Zustand gesamt

  An uncompromising super refurbishment with no limits. Now a jewel that holds the highest class. One of the country's absolute finest Eldorados 1959-60.

The 1959 Cadillac is remembered for its huge sharp tailfins with dual bullet tail lights, two distinctive rooflines and roof pillar configurations, new jewel-like grille patterns and matching deck lid beauty panels.
All Eldorados were characterized by a three-deck, jeweled, rear grille insert, but other trim and equipment features varied. Standard equipment included power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, back-up lamps, windshield wipers, two-speed wipers, wheel discs, outside rearview mirror, vanity mirror, oil filter, power windows, six way power seats, heater, fog lamps, remote control deck lid, radio and antenna with rear speaker, power vent windows, air suspension, electric door locks and license frames.
The 1960 Cadillacs had smoother, more restrained styling. General changes included a full-width grille, the elimination of pointed front bumper guards, increased restraint in the application of chrome trim, lower tailfins with oval shaped nacelles and front fender mounted directional indicator lamps. Standard equipment included power brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, dual back-up lamps, windshield wipers, two-speed wipers, wheel discs, outside rearview mirror, vanity mirror, oil filter, power windows, six-way power seats, heater, fog lamps, Eldorado engine, remote control trunk lock, radio with antenna and rear speaker, power vent windows, air suspension, electric door locks, license frames, and five whitewall tires. Technical highlights were finned rear drums and an X-frame construction. Interiors were done in Chadwick cloth or optional Cambray cloth and leather combinations.
