Beschreibung
The car has now driven 66420 km and is back in Trollhättan for the third time since it was built in the autumn of 1991. This is the second time it is participating in the Saab Festival, but now as an auction car at the on-site auction on Saturday, June 8th at 4 PM. This is a rare opportunity to buy a well-preserved low-mileage example of the original 9000 model. The mileage is believed to be accurate based on a thorough inspection of the car’s condition and inspection history available on sites like biluppgifter.se (among others), although documents verifying the mileage are unfortunately missing.
Teknische Daten
Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand
-
Zustand technisch
The car has reportedly been serviced regularly, with the most recent service at 59,000 km. It drives well. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly, and the engine pulls nicely. No abnormal noises or vibrations. It’s evident that the car has a low mileage.
-
Zustand Interieur
The interior is in excellent condition. The dashboard and upholstery are fine. The only remark is that the headliner is sagging slightly above the back seat. It’s easy to fix thanks to the large trunk, but it also works as it is, not particularly noticeable.
-
Zustand Exterieur
Intact and fine car without rust. Mostly original paint. Minor parking scuffs on the right rear door and wheel arch. Some scuffs on the right front corner of the bumper, see picture. The body is intact and fine despite these.
-
Zustand gesamt
One of the better older 9000 cars we have driven. It is very difficult to find well-preserved cars of this model. They had high utility value, so they have often been worn out or damaged by rust. This one is in surprisingly good condition.

Fakten zum Modell
In 1992, a facelift model was introduced, called the 9000 CS (Combi Sedan), featuring a lower front and higher rear end. The 9000 CD also received the new front from the CS in 1995. The following year, as a 1993 model, the Aero model returned with 225 horsepower and the CS body. This model also featured the so-called “pilot interior” with bucket seats and a rear seat. At the same time, the Griffin was introduced, a 9000 CD in a more luxury- and comfort-oriented version than the sporty Aero, with a 200 horsepower turbo engine.
For a few years, there was also a 3.0-liter V6 with 210 horsepower from Opel, which also replaced the four-cylinder engine in the Griffin model. In Finland, a concept car was developed when the Griffin model was to be produced: a Saab 9000 CD with a self-designed V8 engine. With this, Saab aimed to compete among the big players in the USA, but instead, the aforementioned V6 was chosen.
In 1997, Saab celebrated its 50th anniversary. A more luxurious anniversary model was produced, called the A50 (Anniversary 50 years). The Saab 9000 remained an important and popular model throughout its production time and continued to be manufactured until May 6, 1998, when it was succeeded by the Saab 9-5. Present when the last 9000 rolled off the assembly line were Saab’s management and designer Björn Envall, among others. The car rolled off the line with Carl-Ingemar Perstad from Trafikmagasinet behind the wheel. He drove the car from the factory to the Saab museum, where it is now part of Saab’s museum collection.
Lagerort und Info zur Besichtigung
