"In normal used condition. Starts easily and feels good on the road. Has some paint damage and touch-ups, but nothing serious. Has not been in an accident."

Description

This car was delivered to Saab Anas at the special vehicle department in Trollhättan in April 2006. It was ordered by the Police in Värmland as a Linear model with an Aero engine but with a slightly milder program. The car was driven in eastern Värmland until it was sold, at 270,000 km, to a private individual in Umeå. The decals and roof blue lights had been removed by then. The wiring and other equipment remained in the car when it was sold in 2021, at 330,000 km, to a collector and Saab enthusiast in Trollhättan (who owns several police cars). This collector managed to order new decals of the correct type and install them, as well as a similar roof bar and other blue lights, so that the car would look as it did when it was in service. The only thing missing are the black number/call signs that the Värmland police had.

After refurbishment and new decals, the car has been used at events, car meets, and film shoots. Since autumn 2022, the car has been decommissioned and displayed at the historical police car exhibition at the vehicle museum in Arvika. A former police car that looks like this cannot be driven on public roads without special permission. However, it is allowed to cover the police text on the sides and hood. Gray magnetic signs that cover the police markings are included for this purpose. With these signs applied to the sides and hood, the car can be used.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

Starts easily and runs smoothly. Recently serviced. Scheduled for inspection on 2024-06-05.

  • Interior condition

The dashboard, door panels, and upholstery look completely fine. Seat covers are present, with the seats in normal condition underneath. There are traces of police equipment and screw holes in the interior. There are drawers and compartments in the trunk.

  • Exterior condition

Normal condition for just over 300,000 km. Scratches and wear are present, primarily on the bumpers. Some touched-up surface rust on the wheel arches and lower parts of the doors. Nothing serious or eye-catching, see pictures. Overall, a generally good impression.

  • General condition

The car looks good and runs smoothly. A typical rural police car that has lived a quiet life on the nice roads of eastern Värmland. A unique opportunity to acquire one of the Swedish police’s most popular models throughout the years. So popular that most 9-5s were driven for over 10 years. Since Saab’s bankruptcy in 2011, few 9-5s remain. Therefore, this car is a true rarity.
