"With good performance, smooth handling, and spacious interiors, this is a comfortable long-distance cruiser of high quality. Despite that, it has been driven sparingly - a car that still has a lot to offer."

Description

This car was purchased new by a Swede in Germany in March 1990, and in June of the same year, he registered it in Sweden. He kept the car for just over 21 years. By then, the car had been driven approximately 30 000 km. Today, the odometer reads 4,6730 km. The car has recently passed a new inspection and is ready to drive.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

Starts easily, runs quietly and smoothly. All the technology appears to be working as expected. It has not been test-driven at higher speeds, but according to the current owner, it is quiet and stable on the road. It has not been inspected on a lift, but what could be seen looks good.

  • Interior condition

The interior in its original condition is in a nice and barely worn state. Door panels, seats, rear seat, headliner, carpets, and panels look almost unused. A car with nearly 35 years since production is not in brand new condition, but here we come close. According to information, all electrical and functions are said to work flawlessly, including the AC. Original Bavaria C Business music system from new.

  • Exterior condition

A glossy paint job in its original form. Chrome, glass, and rubber details are also in very good condition. The right rear fender has been repainted at some point, unclear why. There is a stone chip damage on the driver's side fog light. Rims and tires are in great condition. Engine and trunk areas are in impeccable condition.

  • General condition

There's something special about an exclusive car in a subtle color combination from the manufacturer in Munich. When it's in this condition with few owners and low mileage, it becomes a historically significant classic car and a collector's item.

Facts about the model

Many car manufacturers have faced challenges when they ventured into producing more exclusive vehicles for markets that weren't quite ready for them. After the war, BMW gradually resumed car production, dusting off pre-war models and focusing on smaller vehicles, where demand was highest. In the 1950s, they introduced various sports cars in smaller series and the grand 501/502 model with six-cylinders and V8 engines. While these were impressive cars, the market still wasn't quite there, and BMW faced serious difficulties. However, BMW managed to turn things around by revising their strategy and achieving success with the NeuKlasse and lively 02 models in the 1960s and 1970s. This success allowed them to venture back into producing more exclusive vehicles, including the 5, 6, and 7 Series.

The second generation of the 7 Series, known as the E32 model, was introduced in the fall of 1986 with six-cylinder engines. It was produced until 1994 and featured a range of engines, including inline-sixes, V8s, and V12s. These models were known for their luxurious interiors, featuring leather, carpets, wood trim, and more. In the 1990 model year, options included the 730, 735, and 750 models, all equipped with fuel injection. The 735i with 211 horsepower was often considered a wise choice, offering a silky-smooth six-cylinder engine with a bit of extra punch. By this time, the market had matured, and the E32 model proved to be successful, with a reported production of 311,068 units.
