"We don't know much about the car's history. Everything suggests that it has never been restored, remains in unmodified original condition, and that its current state is the result of genuine use over the years.

An excellent opportunity to acquire a classic "Bucktooth" Buick. The car was last inspected and approved in 2010 and is now exempt from periodic inspections. It is approved for road use and ready to drive.

We do not know the exact maintenance requirements, but prospective buyers should expect routine servicing and a general mechanical inspection."

Description

The car was imported in 2010 by Ivars Bilmuseum in Hoting. It originated from West Virginia, USA, and remained on display at the museum until 2014, when it was purchased by a car enthusiast from Storseleby, a small locality in Västerbotten County, northern Sweden.

The new owner appreciated the car's genuine originality and continued to use it in its unrestored, original condition. The owner has since passed away, and the vehicle is now being offered for sale on behalf of the deceased owner's estate.

Based on the photographs we have reviewed, the car appears to have been used as an enthusiast vehicle year-round, including during the winter months. This could explain why the chrome trim shows more wear today than it did when the car was displayed at Ivars Bilmuseum.

Please note: This is a remote auction. All photographs and information regarding the vehicle and its technical condition have been provided by the owner. Bilweb Auctions has not carried out an on-site inspection of the vehicle.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The car is powered by a 4.3-litre inline eight-cylinder engine producing 130 horsepower, better known as the 263 cubic inch Fireball 8. Power is transmitted through a Dynaflow automatic transmission, Buick's renowned smooth-shifting automatic gearbox.

We do not know whether the electrical system has been converted from its original specification. From the factory, the car was equipped with a 6-volt positive-ground electrical system.

  • Interior condition

The interior appears to be original and shows signs of age-related wear. The headliner is in good condition, and the dashboard remains in well-preserved, unmodified condition.

A modern radio has been mounted beneath the dashboard; it can easily be removed by anyone wishing to return the interior to a more original appearance.

Everything inside the car appears to be largely untouched, with no obvious modifications or alterations. We do not know the condition of the original upholstery, as the seats are currently protected by covers and blankets. We hope to provide additional information during the course of the auction.

  • Exterior condition

The paint appears to be either the original factory finish or an older repaint. Years of sun exposure have caused fading, and there is some surface rust where the paint has worn away, particularly on the trunk lid. The paint also shows areas of crazing and cracking, especially on the left-hand side, where surface rust has developed.

The chrome trim is in well-used driver-condition, showing surface rust and oxidation. The front bumper appears to have been the most exposed to the elements, while the rear bumper has weathered somewhat better.

The car is fitted with Coker Classic Whitewall tires all around. We believe these tires were installed when the vehicle was imported in 2010.

This is an honest, usable classic that can be enjoyed without worrying about the occasional door ding. Its appearance could be improved with relatively modest effort—a thorough wash, some paint touch-ups, and a good polish would quickly enhance the car's overall presentation.

  • General condition

An unusual car on Swedish roads, offered here in good running and driving condition. Whether you choose to restore it or simply enjoy it as it is, the decision is entirely up to the next owner.
